A van stocked with food will be donated to feed the hungry today

PORTLAND, Ore. — Today at 11 a.m. NW Natural (NYSE:NWN), is donating one of its retired company vans to the Linnton Community Center Food Pantry at 10614 NW St. Helens Rd, Portland, OR 97231. Inside the van is food donated by Safeway, the Oregon Food Bank, and State Senator Betsy Johnson and her husband John Helm. The food will be delivered to recipients tomorrow in time for Thanksgiving dinner.

“Volunteers at the Linnton Community center work tirelessly to provide food to all the people who come to us for assistance. This new van will be an enormous helping our areas most vulnerable families,” said Daniel Faccinetti, executive director, Linnton Community Center. “The donation of food couldn’t come at a better time as we are ramping up for the holiday season. We are very grateful to Senator Johnson, Representative Witt and NW Natural for their dedication to this important work.”

The donation was organized by State Senator Betsy Johnson with assistance from State Representative Brad Witt. “People in our area are in desperate need of assistance and we want to do all we can help them get through the winter without going hungry,” said Sen. Betsy Johnson, D-Scappoose. “We are grateful to our corporate partners who have stepped up to help with this.”
