NW Natural Gives More Than $100,000 to Crucial Community Services

PORTLAND, Ore. — Through its annual giving initiative, NW Natural (NYSE:NWN) is donating $100,500 in grants to five local organizations that provide critical resources and health services to local communities.

Each year, NW Natural’s shareholders donate more than $1 million to the region’s nonprofit community through its Corporate Philanthropy Fund. Grants are made to nonprofit associations that help improve the environment, education and youth services, as well as arts and culture.

“The services these organizations provide improve the lives of many people in our community, and we are proud to be able to support the essential work they do,” said Von Summers, community affairs manager for NW Natural.

This year, NW Natural shareholders are awarding grants to the following community and health services organizations:

  • $72,000 Grant Recipient: Oregon Community Foundation.
    Working with individuals, families, businesses and organizations, The Oregon Community Foundation (OCF) supports the critical work that nonprofits are doing across the state. OCF annually awards more than $60 million in grants and scholarships.
  • $10,000 Grant Recipient: Urban League of Portland.
    With a mission of equality, the Urban League of Portland offers programs with a distinctive blend of direct services, organizing, outreach and advocacy.
  • $7,000 Grant Recipient: LifeWorks NW.
    LifeWorks NW provides high-quality prevention, mental health and addiction treatment and services for children, families and adults to build a healthy community.
  • $6,000 Grant Recipient: Central City Concern.
    Founded in 1979, Central City Concern serves more than 13,000 individuals annually in the Portland metro area who are impacted by homelessness, poverty and addiction.
  • $5,500 Grant Recipient: American Cancer Society.
    For over 100 years, the American Cancer Society has worked relentlessly to save lives and create a world with less cancer.
