To identify the location of buried transmission pipelines, distinctive marker posts are placed in the ground at intervals in the vicinity of the pipeline. NW Natural conducts routine inspections to survey for possible leaks, to install and maintain markers, and to ensure there is no activity that could threaten the safety and integrity of the pipeline.
