Introduction Headline

There are a variety of ways to get involved in NW Natural’s 2025 IRP. All events are posted HERE.

If you are unable to attend a workshop or meeting, we do our best to record these and post to the site within a few days of the event.

General Accessibility

If you have an accessibility need for any IRP related activity, please contact us at IRP@nwnatural.com.

IRP Open House

The IRP Open House kicks off NW Natural’s IRP engagement for the 2025 IRP. The content is structured as an IRP 101 with an intent to introduce the team to stakeholders and cultivate relationships for the work ahead as well as to inform stakeholders of the IRP process, a little about the Company and provide a high-level review of the IRP tools. Open to all stakeholders. This meeting is recorded and posted… .

Technical Working Groups (TWGs)

Technical Working Groups are a technical forum for consultation and IRP development. TWGs are designed to be 3 hours in length and cover topics such as risk analysis, scenario development, and modeling methods. TWGs are open to all stakeholder and the meetings will be recorded and posted on NW Natural’s website. NW Natural will use a third-party facilitator for this process.

Public Engagement Webinars (PEWs)

These webinars are intended to explore IRP topics at a more general level and be more accessible to those without technical expertise in resource planning. These webinars are open to all stakeholders and designed as 60–90-minute informative sessions with the ability for participants to ask questions and provide comment. These webinars will be recorded and posted on NW Natural’s website. NW Natural will use a third-party facilitator for this process.

Energy Resource (IRP) Fair Events

The Energy Resource Fair replaces the previously hosted ‘meeting for the public’ in prior IRP cycles. Fairs will be held in person and hosted in partnership with local organizations. These events are designed to focus on information and education. Importantly, participants will have opportunity to sign up for programs, bill assistance, and other services. NW Natural and partner subject matter experts will be stationed at topic-specific tables for stakeholders to explore at their own pace. These events will be open to all stakeholders, inclusive of those with children.

Workpapers Workshop / IRP Office Hours

This workshop will be held once the IRP and workpapers are filed with the Commission. This workshop will be open to all stakeholders. Additionally, NW Natural  may host open office hours as needed during the IRP process.

Provide Feedback and Comments

The IRP team regularly requests and responds to feedback provided on its IRP. For the 2025 IRP, the team has implemented a more standardized approach to collecting and responding to feedback. Feedback may be submitted at any time during the process, the IRP team kindly requests feedback related to a specific meeting be submitted within 2 weeks. Click the link to be redirected to the 2025 IRP Stakeholder Feedback Form.

Comments are requested after NW Natural releases its Draft IRP. These are then taken into consideration for the Final IRP filing. Comment periods are also included in the commission-led processes and NW Natural will list these (HERE -accordion for 2025 working groups and public meetings) when dates are made available.
