NW Natural Promotes Two Directors to Support Company’s Decarbonization Efforts

PORTLAND, Ore. — NW Natural, part of Northwest Natural Holding Company (NYSE: NWN), has promoted two director level positions to lead strategy and corporate responsibility related to the company’s low carbon pathway.
 Ryan Bracken has been promoted to director of Strategic Planning where he will help lead the company’s low carbon pathway and decarbonization strategy, while also overseeing the Integrated Resource Plan and continuing to serve as the company’s principal economist.
Bracken has been with NW Natural for six years. Previously, he was a senior economist at the Public Utility Commission of Oregon and an instructor of economics at the Colorado School of Mines, from where he did doctoral work in energy economics. Bracken also has an MA in economics from Colorado State University and a BA in economics and marine science from University of Hawaii System.
Mary Moerlins has been promoted to NW Natural’s director of Environmental Policy & Corporate Responsibility, where she will help lead the company’s policy development, external environmental collaborations, corporate citizenship, and internal sustainability efforts.
Moerlins joined the company in 2013 and most recently worked as the Corporate Citizenship Manager. Prior, she was director of education and sustainability at Piedmont Park Conservancy and an early childhood educator at Fernbank Museum of Natural History. Moerlins holds an MPA from Georgia State University and a BA in biological science from Agnes Scott College.
