Ways to stay safe in a natural disaster.
NW Natural continually coordinates with other regional organizations and agencies as part of a regionwide earthquake-preparedness effort. Below ground, we've modernized our pipeline system with flexible materials that can better withstand land movement like an earthquake. Above ground, we staff a gas control room 24/7, 365 days a year, to monitor our system—and we have a backup control facility at another location as an extra precaution.
To help you get started, you can enter for a chance to win a NW Natural emergency-preparedness kit! 50 winners will get a kit filled with two pop-up lanterns, a power bank, emergency radio, batteries to use in a natural gas fireplace battery back-up and kit devices, and more. All contained in one handy sling-bag, ready to use in case of an emergency! Sweepstakes ends December 1.
